Job Summary
Grant Writer responsible for generating institutional funding through the full lifecycle of grant development—researching, writing, submitting, and managing proposals to foundations, corporations, and other funders. Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities aligned with mission and senior services programming; using AI-enabled research, drafting, and editing tools to support grant proposals and reporting; collaborating with department leaders to gather program outcomes and impact data; working with Finance to prepare financial documentation and grant reports; ensuring funder compliance and stewardship through updates and acknowledgments; maintaining grant tracking records; coordinating meetings and site visits with funders; and supporting additional fundraising projects as needed. Strong writing, storytelling, and grant-management skills, with experience securing funding in a nonprofit environment, ability to translate complex senior-care issues into compelling narratives, and a track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines. Willingness to travel locally for off-site meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Minimum of four (4) years of grant writing experience in a nonprofit setting, or equivalent demonstrated writing and fundraising ability
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals
- Experience using digital tools, grant databases, and AI-supported writing or research platforms preferred
