Job Summary

Grant Writer responsible for researching, identifying, and writing high-quality grant proposals to advance EVE’s mission across its programs, including Phalen Leadership Academies, Summer Advantage, Skilled US, and Indy Scholars. The role develops and submits proposals, conducts grant research, builds budgets, writes narrative proposals, and communicates with internal partners, reporting to the Grants Manager and aiming to generate $1,500,000 in annual grant revenue while retaining 90% of awarded funds each year. The position emphasizes portfolio management, strategy, quality storytelling, funder alignment, data synthesis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support funder relationships and long-term funding sustainability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of increasing responsibility in non-profit fundraising
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and other CRM platforms to support grant tracking and data management
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Extreme tact and discretion, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence
  • Demonstrated commitment to advancing educational and economic equity for underserved communities
