Job Summary
Research, identify, and respond to public and private grant opportunities while preparing high-quality proposals and applications for healthcare, substance use disorder treatment, and mental health services. Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership staff to align proposals with strategic goals, ensuring budgets meet requirements and all content accurately represents the agency's qualifications and program design. Coordinate meetings with program management teams to develop viable proposals and serve as a mentor and advisor on proposal writing, opportunity selection, and competitive strategies. Maintain confidentiality, stay informed of industry best practices, and contribute to editing additional agency documents as needed. This role operates under broad direction with a high level of independence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree
- 4 years of experience writing government grants
- 2 years of experience writing government grants
- Experience working in healthcare, social services or non-profit settings
- Ability to secure new funding opportunities
- Comprehensive knowledge of research
- Ability to distinguish and identify funding opportunities for special programs
- Ability to exercise common sense in routine and non-routine situations
- Willingness to manage up as necessary and appropriate
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and non-routine information
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and Internet including experience with social media outlets
- Collaborative spirit and willingness to support colleagues and constituents
- Ability to remain calm and maintain a sense of humor in high-pressure situations
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with all types of stakeholders and consumers
