Job Summary
Grant Manager conducts research on potential funding sources and grant opportunities for tribal programs; coordinates planning, organization, preparation, and administration of grants; monitors grants for compliance with laws and regulations; develops proposals tailored to funders; collects data to support proposals; reviews proposals for accuracy and completeness; ensures timely submission and compliance with guidelines; maintains records of proposals; maintains relationships with funders; coordinates post-award administration and reporting; provides grant-writing assistance; collaborates with Tribal Leadership, department directors, and Finance to align proposals with organizational goals; requires knowledge of grants process, diverse funding sources, grant editing rules, and strong communication and organizational skills; preferred degree and experience in grants; background checks and driving eligibility apply; position may require evenings/weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communications, Planning, Public Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in grant writing, managing grants, contracts and/or grant administration
- Must possess a current California Driver’s License, and safe driving record and be insurable under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy
- Must pass background security check prior to employment
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug test as requested over the course of employment
- Must be able to work evening hours and weekends on occasion
