Job Summary

Grant Coordinator role within the Office of Sponsored Programs at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA. Provides administrative, financial, compliance, and programmatic support for pre-award and post-award grant activities, sponsor compliance, reporting schedules, budget monitoring, project tracking, and stakeholder communications. Collaborates with faculty, staff, project directors, finance personnel, and external funding agencies to ensure effective administration of grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, and other sponsored projects. Supports the Director of Sponsored Programs in advancing institutional priorities, writes grant proposals as directed, and assists with policy development, training materials, and grant-management processes. Requires coordination across departments, familiarity with federal grant regulations, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in grants administration, sponsored programs, or a related field
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience may be substituted for the degree and experience requirements on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience supporting an Office of Sponsored Programs, Grants Office, Research Administration Office, or similar higher education administrative unit
  • Experience assisting with federal grants administration, compliance monitoring, reporting, and project coordination
  • Familiarity with grant lifecycle management, including proposal development, award administration, and closeout activities
  • Proficiency with grants management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with all management levels within the institution as well as key individuals in funding agencies, partner organizations, and regulatory bodies
  • Knowledge of federal and state grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and applicable compliance requirements
  • Ability to respond effectively to numerous and varied situations, analyze issues, and resolve problems in support of project directors, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
  • Must be a "team player" with the desire to promote the entire institution and all its programs through energetic and effective coordination with applicable institutional departments and appropriate external organizations and agencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and progressive organization
