Job Summary
Manage pre- and post-award administration for federal, state, and foundation grants and contracts, including advising principal investigators on sponsor guidelines, assembling applications, and preparing budgets. Develop and monitor the division's annual budget, verify fund availability for equipment and personnel, and prepare financial reports, forecasts, and reconciliations for senior administrators. Lead junior staff in administrative tasks, oversee payroll personnel actions, and ensure compliance with NIH regulations and federal purchase requirements. Monitor clinical trial funding sources, track revenue and expenditure variances, and resolve account discrepancies. Represent the department at administrative meetings and assist faculty in identifying funding opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, or equivalent experience (In school)
- 5-7 years of relevant job experience, or equivalent, preferably in an academic environment
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial documents, such as system reports, at both account and summary levels
- Demonstrated research administration experience with pre and post award emphasis
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and, PowerPoint), or similar software applications
- Knowledge of enterprise financial products
- Proficiency and experience with a Grants Management system
- Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written) needed to present and communicate effectively with all levels of management
- Detail-oriented & analytic problem-solver

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
- Excellent people skills and relationship management
- Good communication skills across multiple levels of the organization
