Grant Compliance Specialist

Job Summary
Monitor compliance with government grants and contracts for financial, administrative, and technical requirements, including budgeting, invoicing, financial and progress reporting, audit, records, and closeout. Track funding source budgets and balances, develop accounts receivable invoices on a cost reimbursement basis, and oversee staff timesheets and expense reports against project budgets. Facilitate processing of accounts payables and labor reporting while coordinating contract development and implementation to ensure adherence to internal and external procurement regulations. Maintain project documentation in a standardized and organized manner through document scanning and control. Collaborate with biologists and engineers to deliver wetland projects across thirteen states, reporting directly to the Southern Regional Office in Ridgeland, MS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting or a related field
- Knowledge of federal and/or state grants
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Self-motivated, lots of initiative, eager to learn, able to work with minimal supervision, but willing to ask questions and seek direction if needed
- Able to maintain a professional demeanor while working within tight deadlines with a variety of people and personalities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting or a related field preferred
- Direct experience with federal and/or state grants
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
