Grainger Associate Vice President of Conservation and Science

Lead the museum's conservation and scientific research program and the new Grainger Center for Conservation and Science. Oversee care, treatment, and examination of over 300,000 works of art while advising leadership on collection management and establishing conservation policies. Direct workflows for treatments and documentation, manage the department budget and facilities, and supervise directors across twelve disciplines. Coordinate conservation activities museum-wide, including loans, exhibitions, acquisitions, and deaccessions, while maintaining institutional standards for object handling, storage, and environmental control. Develop long-range plans for staffing and equipment, evaluate staff performance, and mentor personnel through training and fellowship programs. Engage with scholars, curators, and the public to disseminate research, lead fundraising efforts, and advance the department's reputation in national and international dialogue.
