Job Summary
Receive, unload, and load grain using conveyors, augers, and elevators while operating and maintaining grain handling machinery. Conduct quality checks on grain for moisture and weight, monitor inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of shipments and operational activities. Clean grain bins, pits, and work areas to meet safety and hygiene standards, and assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Comply with all safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment, and provide exceptional customer service. This role requires physical labor, the ability to work in various weather conditions, and strong organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or previous experience in agriculture or a related field
- Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
- Basic math and computer skills for record-keeping and inventory management
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate machinery
- Ability to operate, maintain, and repair agricultural equipment safely and effectively
- Certification in forklift or heavy machinery operation
- The ability to lift and move heavy objects for loading and unloading
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Commitment to following safety guidelines and regulations
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, during peak planting and harvesting seasons, and outside of normal hours throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
