Job Summary
Lead day-to-day elevator operations by overseeing grain handling, managing facility assets, and coordinating staff schedules to ensure safe, efficient, and secure facility performance. Purchase grain, build relationships with producers and freight partners, and oversee merchandising activities while monitoring quality and identifying optimization opportunities. Manage inventory, warehouse operations, and equipment maintenance, ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards through audits and process improvements. Coach location staff, promote teamwork, and maintain accurate operational records. Work extended hours as business needs require, including outdoor duties in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of operations management or related experience, including employee supervision
- Experience with safety compliance and basic mechanical maintenance
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and understand operational and safety instructions
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of independent decision-making
- Ability to work extended hours as business needs require
- Adequate vision (including close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and color recognition)
- Ability to detect odors
- Ability to respond to safety warnings
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more
- Ability to climb ladders and ride lift equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Four-year degree
- Relevant experience in lieu of formal education
- Grain origination or grain marketing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational software
