Job Summary
Graduate Vocational Nurse position under supervision of an RN/LVN preceptor, performing resident care tasks in a nursing-home setting for three months within a preceptor program. Responsibilities include maintaining safety and quality of care, administering medications and injections, recording vital signs and resident status, documenting in charts, coordinating with DON and activity staff, assisting with meals and dietary needs, participating in staff meetings and trainings, and upholding company and regulatory policies. Requires completion of LVN education, current LVN license, English proficiency, ability to follow instructions, and capacity to meet physical demands (lifting, standing, reaching). The role emphasizes teamwork, professional conduct, and compassionate resident care within Buckner facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Requires basic understanding of a specialized area of knowledge normally acquired through four years of high school, plus two years of college or vocational school and appropriate license/certification.
- Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Must hold a valid, temporary licensure as licensed vocational nurse.
- Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice, including basic knowledge related to nursing, such as drugs, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences, and their application required.
- Working knowledge of infection control, universal precautions and OSHA standards required.
