Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a licensed RN, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Collect vital signs, document patient data, and participate in medication administration as directed. Collaborate with the RN on prioritizing patient care, developing interdisciplinary plans, and reporting patient responses to treatments. Provide patient and family education based on initial assessments and diagnosis while maintaining confidentiality and complying with regulatory standards. Complete orientation and training requirements within the Intermountain Nurse Residency program to prepare for and pass the State Boards examination.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
