Job Summary
Assess patient data including vital signs and complete accurate documentation under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Observe and discuss prioritization of patient needs, implement care plans addressing physical, emotional, and social requirements, and report patient responses to treatments. Participate in patient/family education based on assessments and diagnosis while recognizing legal/ethical implications of care delivery. Achieve RN licensure within 12 weeks by passing the State Boards examination or transition to another role if licensure is not obtained. Perform manual tasks such as transferring patients, operating monitors, and navigating crowded clinical environments while maintaining confidentiality and complying with regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
