Job Summary
Assess patient data including vital signs and report significant condition changes under direct RN supervision. Collaborate with the RN on prioritizing patient needs, developing interdisciplinary care plans, and implementing interventions while observing specialized considerations for physical, emotional, and social factors. Document patient responses to treatments and participate in patient/family education based on assessments and readiness levels. Maintain legal and ethical standards by completing accurate documentation, ensuring confidentiality, and recognizing regulatory implications during supervised care delivery. Complete orientation, training, and the Intermountain Nurse Residency program while working toward passing the State Board examination.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
