Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Collect vital signs, complete accurate documentation, and observe the development of interdisciplinary care plans. Participate in patient/family education and medication administration as directed by licensed staff while progressing through the Intermountain Nurse Residency program. Achieve RN licensure within 12 weeks; failure to pass the State Board exam or secure another qualified role results in termination. Maintain confidentiality, comply with regulatory standards, and demonstrate manual dexterity for equipment manipulation and patient transfers.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
