Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a licensed RN, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Collect vital signs, complete accurate documentation, and participate in patient/family education as determined by ongoing assessments. Observe and discuss prioritization of patient needs, interdisciplinary care plans, and modifications to nursing interventions. Recognize legal/ethical implications of care, maintain confidentiality, and comply with regulatory standards while working toward RN licensure through the Intermountain Nurse Residency program.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Complete orientation and training requirements
- Successful progression through and completion of the Nursing Residency program
- Pass the State Boards examination
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
