Job Summary
Assess patient data including vital signs and report significant condition changes under direct RN supervision. Collect patient information, complete accurate documentation, and observe the implementation of interdisciplinary care plans. Collaborate with the RN on prioritizing patient needs, discussing care modifications, and participating in patient/family education based on assessment results. Recognize legal/ethical implications of care delivery by complying with regulatory standards and maintaining confidentiality while working toward RN licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
