Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Collect vital signs, document care accurately, and participate in medication administration as directed. Collaborate with the RN on prioritizing patient needs and developing interdisciplinary care plans while recognizing legal and ethical implications of care. Engage in patient and family education based on assessment findings and learning readiness. Maintain confidentiality and comply with regulatory standards throughout the 12-week Intermountain Nurse Residency program while working toward RN licensure. Requires successful completion of an accredited nursing program, BLS certification, and ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and navigating busy clinical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
