Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient needs. Collect vital signs, complete accurate documentation, and participate in patient/family education as determined by ongoing assessments. Observe and discuss prioritization of patient needs and modifications to interdisciplinary care plans while recognizing legal/ethical implications of care. Achieve Registered Nurse licensure within the 12-week Intermountain Nurse Residency program by completing orientation, training, and passing the State Boards examination. Work 36 weekly hours at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, requiring manual dexterity for equipment manipulation and physical ability to transfer patients and navigate busy clinical environments.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
