Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs. Collect vital signs, document care accurately, and participate in medication administration as directed. Observe interdisciplinary care planning and patient/family education while recognizing legal and ethical implications of care. Achieve RN licensure by completing the Intermountain Nurse Residency program within 12 weeks, with the understanding that failure to pass the State Board exam or secure another role results in termination. Requires successful completion of an accredited nursing program, BLS certification, and ability to perform physical tasks including patient transfers and operating medical equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be enrolled and have started coursework in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
