Job Summary
Assess patient data including vital signs and complete accurate documentation under direct supervision of an RN. Observe and discuss prioritization of patient needs, implementation of care plans, and evaluation of patient responses to treatments. Participate in patient and family education based on assessments and diagnosis. Demonstrate responsibility for care delivery by complying with regulatory standards, maintaining confidentiality, and recognizing legal/ethical implications. Achieve RN licensure within 12 weeks by passing the State Board examination or transition to another role if unsuccessful. Requires BLS certification, manual dexterity for equipment manipulation, and ability to lift and ambulate patients. Located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver with 36 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
