Job Summary
Conduct patient care delivery under direct RN supervision, including assessment of vital signs, implementation of care plans, and documentation of patient responses. Collaborate with the RN on prioritization of patient needs and participate in patient/family education based on assessment findings. Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal/ethical standards while progressing through the Intermountain Nurse Residency program toward RN licensure. Complete orientation, training, and BLS certification requirements within the 12-week residency period.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
