Job Summary
Collect patient data including vital signs, complete accurate documentation, and report significant changes in patient condition under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Observe and discuss prioritization of patient needs, implement the patient plan of care, and evaluate patient responses to treatments while adhering to the nursing process. Participate in patient and family education, assist with medication administration, and transfer patients as part of the Intermountain Nurse Residency program. This 12-week role requires passing the State Boards examination to continue employment.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a recognized and accredited Nursing (RN) education program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
- Achieves Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in a timely manner per Intermountain Health standards and expectations
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
