Job Summary
Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the 4H Cardiac Progressive Care unit. Monitor and coordinate patient care with ancillary departments to optimize comfort while adhering to nursing practice guidelines, Mercy Health System goals, and state Nurse Practice Act requirements. Work full-time 36-hour shifts on 12-hour nights (7:00pm–7:30am) with significant physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing. Maintain current RN licensure and BLS certification, with eligibility for sign-on bonuses, loan forgiveness, and bridging programs for further education. Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Must be able to stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Must meet unit-specific physical demands
- Must be able to perform significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance
- Must be able to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements
- Must be prepared for high risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Must be able to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pinch up to 15 lbs.
- Must be able to kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Must be able to stand and walk each shift
- Must be able to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
