Job Summary
Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the 4H Cardiac Progressive Care unit. Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient comfort. Function within the scope of nursing preparation consistent with established guidelines, Mercy Health System goals, and state Nurse Practice Act requirements. Work full-time days (36 hours/week) from 7:00am to 7:30pm. Maintain current RN licensure and BLS certification. This role supports Mercy Health System's mission through innovation, technology, and compassion within a collaborative team environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Stand and walk most of the time on duty
- Meet unit-specific physical demands
- Significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance
- May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements
- High risk exposure to blood and body fluids
- Physical demands are attached plus push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs.
- Pinch up to 15 lbs.
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
