Job Summary
Provide patient care using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients in the Cardiac Pavilion. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care with other departments. Uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information while adhering to Mercy Service Standards. This role requires a Graduate Nurse Resident or Registered Nurse with a current RN license and BLS certification. The position involves pushing, pulling, and lifting 50 pounds regularly, along with prolonged standing and walking during 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am). Full-time employment is 36 hours per week at Mercy Hospital Southeast.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Nurse Resident or Registered Nurse
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00pm - 7:30am)
- Status: Full-Time - 36 hours/week
