Job Summary
The registered nurse (RN) in Mayo Clinic’s Internal Travel Team rotates across Mayo Clinic sites in AZ, FL, MN and WI to provide direct patient care in PCU/Med/Surg/ICU settings. Responsibilities include coordinating nursing care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, with leadership activities and participation in quality improvement. Requires Foundations of Critical Care Nursing (FCCN) and ACLS training if not already certified, BLS, and an RN license; travel to various locations is routine. For New Graduate Nurses, there is a Nurse Residency program option; scheduling may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call. The role emphasizes cross-site nursing practice, utilization of electronic medical record systems, and alignment with Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model. Must have a baccalaureate nursing degree or equivalent, and one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting if not recently graduated.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited, or candidate, baccalaureate nursing program
- RN license in applicable state(s)
- ACLS certification or eligible for ACLS
- Foundations of Critical Care Nursing (FCCN) required or completed
- Minimum of one year RN experience in a PCU (ICU step-down) or ICU setting (or equivalent as specified)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Ability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends) and travel as needed
- Cross-site nursing experience preferred
- ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA-accredited program recognition or equivalent accreditation for program
