Job Summary
Provide nursing care to patients under direct supervision, excluding medication administration, IVs, and blood products. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while documenting clinical judgments and monitoring responses to treatment. Transport charts, specimens, and supplies; prepare required records and reports for compliance. Respond to emergencies, initiate CPR procedures, and maintain patient confidentiality. Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care, implement patient teaching, and support performance improvement initiatives. Maintain a clean, safe environment adhering to infection control and iRESPECT standards. Provide coverage for relief and absences as required.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of the course requirements for graduation from an Associate's Degree, Diploma or Bachelor of Science program in nursing
- Qualified by education, training or experience to work with the neonate, infant, toddler, pre-schooler, school-age, adolescent, adult and/or geriatric patient population
- Experience in patient care as obtained through completion of an approved nursing program
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure
- Must obtain licensure to work in the State of TN as an RN within 90 Days
- Completion of required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements
- Attends staff meetings, all mandatory in-service and additional continuing education as required
- Responds to problems/opportunities to improve care
- Supports and participates in the organization's Performance Improvement initiatives
- Initiates and/or assists with basic CPR procedures
- Maintains confidentiality in matters relating to patient/family, department and hospital information
- Adheres to established department and organization policies (i.e. HIPAA, Confidentiality, and Compliance Policies)
