Job Summary
Graduate Mechanical Engineer program in maintenance, reliability, and project activities at Yara Pilbara. You will gain practical experience within the Maintenance and Projects Department, working closely with Static Engineers on reliability, maintenance, and project-related activities. The program lasts 3 years as a fixed-term Graduate Program, commencing January/February 2027, aligned with your degree completion. Responsibilities include supporting maintenance and reliability-based projects, planning and budgeting, coordinating jobs, drafting scope of works for static projects, liaising with Procurement for tendering, applying engineering principles to loads and piping stress, contributing to preventive maintenance and asset management, participating in quality inspections and commissioning, performing data and root cause analysis, and supporting continuous improvement. You will gain exposure to condition monitoring, static equipment, applicable codes and standards (ASME, API, AS, ISO), and strive toward Chartered Engineer status (Engineers Australia PDP). You will also complete HESQ training and participate in emergency response activities. The program emphasizes structured on-the-job learning, development, and progression toward Chartered Engineer status, with opportunities for relocation to Karratha, WA.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Masters/Honours or equivalent
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with fluency in English essential
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and development
- The ability to perform work responsibly, minimising risks and potential issues
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or permanent residency (temporary visa holders are not eligible)
- A willingness to relocate to Karratha, WA for the duration of the program
