Job Summary
Graduate Geophysicist in the Nottingham-based Geophysics team. Responsibilities include planning and optimising geophysical investigations within engineering environments, evaluating technical aspects and resources, assisting with commercial and health & safety considerations, supporting and leading site work across different geophysical techniques, performing data analysis and interpretation (both computerised and manual), and preparing technical reports in various formats. Candidates should hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geophysics (or related discipline with experience in engineering geophysics), possess topographical and CAD/MicroStation skills (advantageous), have a broad knowledge of geophysical techniques, be motivated, detail-oriented, able to work in a team and independently, and be willing to travel in the UK and overseas. Other requirements include basic computer skills (Word/Excel), good report writing, and a full UK driving licence. Flexibility for weekend/night work and hybrid work options are noted, with an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office mentioned in the posting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geophysics (or related discipline with experience of engineering geophysics)
- Topographical (and CAD/MicroStation) skills advantageous
- Good software skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel in the UK and overseas
- Ability to plan and optimise geophysical investigations; familiarity with various geophysical techniques; ability to prepare technical reports
