Job Summary
Identify fundamentally driven trading opportunities and work with traders to capture them, focusing on maximizing impact on overall desk PnL. Perform scenario analysis for relevant upcoming events and catalysts, analyzing time-sensitive headlines to assess potential impact on volatility and stock prices. Assist in growing the fundamental research team by developing processes, identifying market inefficiencies, and building industry networks. Use AI-enabled tools to organize and analyze news, validating outputs to improve research tooling. Begin with structured training through the Optiver Academy, then take increasing ownership of company coverage and research-backed trading positions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a STEM, Finance, Economics or business related subject
- Available to start full time work in August 2027 (either graduating by 2027, or holding a maximum of 3 years work experience)
- Has a genuine interest in financial markets and demonstrates a willingness to learn new techniques/skills and teach others
- Able to work under the guidance of mentors and develop fundamental research-driven ideas independently
- Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing
- A determined and resilient individual, equipped with strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
- Evidenced time management, organizational and multitasking skills
