Job Summary
Graduate Engineer on highway, urban roadway or municipal projects from planning through design and construction; contribute to project plans and specifications while working with project team members; typically reports to a Project Manager or Senior Engineer; may serve as resident project representative in the field during construction; role includes participation in proposals/interviews for securing work, collaboration on development of project plans, and progression toward project management; requires independent and team work, strong communication, and willingness to travel/out-of-town; office and outdoor construction environment experience, proficiency in design software, and a valid driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineering Intern (EI) certified, or ability to obtain certification within one year
- 1-3 Years of experience with design and/or construction observation responsibilities on roadway or general municipal projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microstation/GeoPak or other CADD-based civil design software is a plus
- A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain one
