Job Summary
Graduate Engineer role supporting highway, urban roadway, and municipal projects from planning through design and construction. Independent and collaborative design contributions to project plans and specifications, reporting to a Project Manager or Senior Engineer, with additional responsibilities as resident project representative in the field during construction. Involves participation in proposals and client meetings, potential involvement in business development, travel to construction sites, and ongoing coordination with Apex team members. Requires ability to operate in both office and construction environments, proficiency with Civil/2D/3D design tools, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineering Intern (EI) certified, or ability to obtain certification within one year
- 1-3 Years of experience with design and/or construction observation responsibilities on roadway or general municipal projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Flexible working style and willingness to occasionally modify personal schedules as required to meet deadlines and/or client needs
- Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microstation/GeoPak or other CADD-based civil design software is a plus
- A valid driver’s license is required or the ability to obtain one
