Job Summary
Graduate Engineer for civil engineering projects focused on highway, urban roadway, and municipal design and construction. Roles include design development, producing plans/specifications, coordinating with project teams, and serving as resident project representative in the field during construction. Requires a BS in Civil Engineering, EI certification (or within one year), 1-3 years of related experience, strong communication, proficiency in MS Office, and knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation/GeoPak a plus. Job involves travel, field/office work, and potential involvement in business development and proposals; travel during construction season is expected. Office locations include multiple ND and MN offices; full-time, salary range $31-$40 per hour with annualized $64,480–$83,200 based on experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering required
- EI certification or ability to obtain within one year
- 1-3 Years of design/construction observation experience on roadway/municipal projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, self-motivated with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient with Windows/Office; knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation/GeoPak a plus
- Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors; travel may be required
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work with project teams and independently
- Willingness to modify schedules to meet deadlines and client needs
- Participation in professional organizations and community leadership programs
- Travel and out-of-town stays may be required
- Business development responsibilities with mentoring by senior staff

- Engineering Intern (EI) certified or ability to obtain certification within one year
- 1-3 Years of experience with design and/or construction observation responsibilities on roadway or general municipal projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Windows/Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Microstation/GeoPak or other CADD-based civil design software is a plus
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
- Ability to operate a computer in office and outdoor environments during construction season
- Travel and out-of-town stays may be required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Willingness to modify personal schedules to meet deadlines and client needs
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in teams
- Participation in professional organizations and community leadership programs
