Graduate Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Create design documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for substation projects under senior engineer supervision. Perform engineering calculations and studies including relay burden, load flow, short circuit, ground grid design, relay coordination, and transformer sizing. Apply industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and gain hands-on experience at job sites. Learn engineering application software for tasks such as transformer sizing and load flow studies. Complete assigned tasks to meet project schedule requirements and bring potential problems and solutions to the responsible party. Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with EIT certificate or ability to obtain within one year.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Power focus
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Ability to obtain EIT certificate within one year of date of hire
- Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field
- Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
- Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
- Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship
