Graduate Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Create design documents, drawings, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials for substation projects under senior engineer supervision. Perform engineering calculations and studies including relay burden, load flow, short circuit, ground grid design, relay coordination, and transformer sizing. Apply industry standards (NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI) and gain hands-on experience at job sites to learn substation construction and design. Complete tasks as assigned to meet project schedule requirements while learning engineering application software for ground grid and transformer sizing. Bring potential project-related problems and solutions to the responsible party. Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Power focus
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Ability to obtain EIT certificate within one year of date of hire
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship
- Knowledge of common word processing software
- Knowledge of spreadsheet software
- Knowledge of e-mail software
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
- Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
- Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work
Desired Qualifications
- Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field
