Graduate Electrical Engineer

Job Summary
Create design documents, drawings, and wiring diagrams for substation projects, including generating bills of materials and applying field mark-ups under direct supervision. Perform engineering calculations such as relay burden, load flow, short circuit studies, and transformer sizing while applying industry standards like NEC, NESC, and IEEE. Travel to job sites for hands-on training in substation construction and design, and bring potential project problems to senior engineers for resolution. Complete assigned tasks to meet project schedule requirements and utilize document management systems. Occasional travel and lifting up to 20 pounds are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- Power focus
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Ability to obtain EIT certificate within one year of date of hire
- Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field
- Knowledge of common word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail software
- Demonstrated communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Basic knowledge of three phase power systems
- Knowledge of electrical AC/DC fundamentals
- Occasional travel to other offices or meeting locations
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk intermittently throughout the workday
- Ability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without current or future visa sponsorship
