Job Summary
Contribute to the delivery of building services projects from concept through completion by developing electrical engineering design skills, undertaking system load calculations, and supporting plant sizing and distribution route coordination. Prepare technical reports, evaluate design options, and assist in developing specifications while attending project meetings and workshops. Gain hands-on experience through site inspections, monitoring installations during construction and commissioning, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams under the guidance of experienced engineers. Work across diverse sectors including healthcare, data centres, and defence projects, progressing in responsibility as you develop your technical knowledge and confidence in BIM workflows and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- An accredited Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- You must have the right to work in the UK
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Degree accreditation by a relevant professional institution such as CIBSE, IET, or IMechE is preferred
- Relevant industry experience through internships, placements, work experience, or project-based activities would be advantageous
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM processes, or electrical design software would be beneficial but is not essential
- A strong interest in building services, sustainable design, and multidisciplinary project delivery
- A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with an interest in working toward professional registration (e.g., IEng or CEng) in the future
