Graduate - Data Engineer

Graduate - Data Engineer in Whitehaven’s two-year Australian Mining graduate program. Rotations across NSW/QLD operations and corporate offices, with hands-on experience in data quality, governance and management, migrating and transforming data from enterprise systems to cloud platforms via APIs and modern data pipelines. Build and maintain data assets, pipeline configurations and deployment artifacts using YAML and cloud-native tools. Develop AI-powered solutions including RAG pipelines for intelligent search and operational assistants. Create dashboards and automated workflows using Power BI and analytics platforms. Collaborate with engineering, operations and business teams to deliver data-driven solutions in a real mining environment. Must be prepared to live and work in regional or site-based locations; degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering or related field; strong communication and teamwork; proactive attitude and commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
