Job Summary
Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning at Purdue University Northwest. Offered a 20 hour per week hourly-paid stipend, the GA supports the design, implementation, and supervision of comprehensive strength and conditioning programs for NCAA Division II and ACHA student-athletes under the direction of the Director of Sports Performance. Responsibilities include designing and implementing sport-specific programs, instructing student-athletes on lifting techniques, speed development, agility, and conditioning; monitoring workouts for safety and adherence to goals; tracking and evaluating performance metrics; collaborating with coaching staff to align training with sport-specific demands; assisting with performance testing; and contributing to a positive training environment that aligns with NCAA Division II philosophy. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree, enrollment in a graduate program at PNW, previous strength & conditioning experience, strong exercise science knowledge, and flexibility to work early mornings and various days. Required certifications include CPR/AED and First Aid, with ongoing professional development expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Acceptance into a graduate program at Purdue University Northwest
- Previous experience in strength and conditioning (internship or collegiate experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of exercise science principles and training techniques
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and days
- Must be a PNW student enrolled in a graduate program on the Hammond campus
- CPR/AED
- First Aid
- Maintain required certifications (e.g., CPR/AED, First Aid)
