Job Summary
The Grading Superintendent supervises operators and grade checkers in grading operations, assessing job priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met. The role includes conducting safety talks, training employees, completing paperwork, and maintaining relationships with clients. Key requirements include strong communication skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to manage time effectively while working under pressure. Knowledge of grading equipment and basic computer skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to accurately read plans and specifications
- Understanding of job constraints and budgets
- Ability to work independently with little instruction
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Capable of remaining organized while multi-tasking
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of current grading equipment capabilities
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Search)
- Basic phone skills (calls, reading and responding to emails and texts)
- Must be dependable and willing to report to work on time
- Ability to work extended hours during the construction season
- Able to pass a drug test and background check
