Job Summary
Operate various pieces of equipment to achieve precise location and grading as outlined in plans, adapting to perform other duties as directed by the grading foreman. Maintain, inspect, and clean equipment efficiently while demonstrating situational awareness to uphold a safe working environment. This onsite position in Albemarle, NC requires at least 2 years of experience with earth-moving equipment such as dozers and backhoes, along with the ability to read grade stakes and plans. Candidates must possess reliable transportation and be willing to perform manual labor as needed.
Required Qualifications
- strong foundation in operating earth-moving equipment such as dozers and backhoes
- at least 2 years of experience in the field
- Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
- Willing to perform some manual labor as needed and directed by supervisor
- Work well with team but work with minimum supervision
- Reliable transportation to and from the Albemarle Office or Jobsite
- Physical capabilities, including standing for extended periods
- lifting up to 90 pounds
- navigating uneven surfaces

- Experience on Highway Projects
- GPS experience
