Job Summary
Operate and maintain motor graders to perform precise grading work on construction sites, utilizing GPS or laser-guided systems to achieve accurate grading according to project specifications. Prepare construction sites by clearing, grading, and leveling surfaces to create a stable foundation, while working closely with surveyors and other equipment operators to ensure project goals are met. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance, identify and address issues encountered during the process, and maintain accurate records of materials, hours, and equipment problems. Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Requires high school diploma, two years of related experience, proficiency in heavy equipment operation, and the ability to work in all weather conditions while lifting up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years of related experience
- Proficient in the operation of motor graders and related construction equipment
- Ability to use GPS or laser-guided systems for precise grading
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Proficient in the operation of bulldozers and other heavy equipment
- Ability to operate finish graders for extended periods
- Must be able to physically operate heavy equipment
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand to operate and repair heavy equipment
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
