Job Summary
Grade lumber boards per QC standards, operate forklifts to stack and move materials, and run bundling machines to package finished units. Transport product between workstations, calculate unit density, and document statistics while maintaining a clean, safe work area. Perform routine equipment maintenance, identify substandard product for immediate corrective action, and assist with edge sealing and packaging adjustments during downtime. Adhere strictly to safety and environmental policies regarding spills, waste, and baghouse operations. This rotating shift role supports the finishing end process in a plant environment with seasonal climate exposure.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of lumber grade standards
- Ability to use grading tools
- Ability to use hand banders, forklift, and computer
- Good math, communication, organizational and mechanical skills
- Ability to read, write, and interpret written grades and standards
- Possess knowledge, demonstrate competency in, and obey all applicable company, state, and federal safety policies, standards and regulations
- Possess the ability and desire to follow all safety rules, policies, standards and constantly demonstrate safe work practices while performing all job duties
- Be familiar with Safety and Environmental Management System for this position
- Responsible for understanding and adhering to all environmental policies and procedures including spill response, general waste, paint waste, and baghouse operation procedures
