Job Summary
Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, wiring, and computer-related vehicle issues by using scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, and wiring diagrams to identify root causes. Test electrical circuits, sensors, and modules to develop accurate repair plans for advanced work involving drivability, engine performance, and major vehicle systems. Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to communicate results, confirm parts availability, and perform post-repair testing to ensure vehicles are safe and reliable. Document all diagnostic steps and findings clearly while maintaining a clean, organized work area. Full-time schedule Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday availability during peak times.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3–5 years of experience as an automotive technician, with demonstrated advanced diagnostic experience
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring, and circuit testing
- Proficiency with scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, wiring diagrams, and standard repair equipment
- Ability to diagnose complex, intermittent, and previously unresolved vehicle issues
- Strong understanding of drivability, engine performance, electrical, computer, and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret diagnostic data and determine the root cause of a problem before recommending repairs
- Strong critical-thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to document findings clearly and communicate effectively with service advisors and other technicians
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative shop environment
- Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record

- ASE certifications are preferred
