Job Summary
Coordinate professional and paraprofessional personnel and oversee specific functional areas within the agency program. Provide direct service to persons served using the Person Centered Process, consult with staff on difficult cases, and maintain accurate case records. Link individuals to guardians, families, support systems, and community agencies while providing training or coordinating training for staff. Facilitate project development, chair or participate in committees, and support fiscal or personnel functions as assigned. Ensure compliance with drug testing and background check policies while maintaining confidentiality. Requires a valid Michigan driver's license, three years of public mental health experience, and the ability to adapt to unexpected situations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services Field
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
- Three (3) years' experience in public mental health or two (2) years St. Clair County CMH experience
- Must have access to transportation
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must comply with Alcohol & Drug Testing Policy (06-001-0010) and Background Check Policy (06-001-0015)
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Ability to exercise some flexibility in problem solving, when expected results are clear and generally set by others, provided certain outcomes are avoided
- Ingenuity is required to adapt, alter or improvise alternatives when unexpected situations occur
- Ability to exercise discretion and some flexibility in selecting an optimal solution from established alternatives to obtain the desired outcome
- Ability to use or exert influence in a work process
- Ability to be a 'work leader' (of a person or function), or advise others
- Ability to provide, exchange, or explain information which conveys an opinion or evaluation of the facts or analyses
- Ability to develop and/or maintain effective work relationships with new, established or non-receptive individual/organizations through tact, diplomacy and persuasion
Desired Qualifications
- BSW
- Over five (5) years' experience in public mental health system
- Demonstration of Proficiency and Experience Working on an Electronic Health Record System
- Lived experience with behavioral health issues
