Job Summary
Grade 6 Teacher at Webb Elementary School in Wethersfield, CT. Will deliver instruction to Grade 6 students, provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students and families, maintain records of student performance, and engage in professional development to bring current learning practices to the classroom. Collaborate with colleagues to plan and support Grade 6 classes; use varied teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs; prepare materials; observe and communicate progress; manage classroom behavior; provide targeted small-group instruction; focus on English Language Arts; participate in school events and fulfill additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Current Connecticut Teacher Elementary Certification (#013, #305 or equivalent)
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with other office personnel
- Ability to handle and treat information confidentially
- Ability to relate effectively with staff, parents, students and the public
- Ability to plan and organize work schedule and set priorities
- Ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency
- Ability to motivate students, inspire trust and confidence in students, while working with patience and understanding
