Job Summary
Teach Grade 6 mathematics using the district curriculum and state frameworks while holding high expectations for student learning and behavior. Plan and deliver instruction that addresses individual needs through appropriate strategies, materials, and equipment, utilizing student-level data to inform lesson plans and document progress. Collaborate with special education, ESL teachers, and grade-level teams to engage all students academically and personally, maintaining effective communication with families. Participate in professional learning communities and professional development to enhance educational experiences, while working under building administrator supervision to assess achievement and manage student behavior.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree
- Required Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Mathematics grades 5-8
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
- Ability to meet the expectations of the Massachusetts Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with technology (blended learning, teacher/family communication suites (Remind preferred), Google G-Suite Apps, etc.)
- Dual certification
- Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency
