Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum while assessing student learning styles to tailor instruction. Manage classroom behavior, create a conducive learning environment, and conduct ongoing formal and informal assessments of student achievement. Coordinate with special education teachers to modify curricula per Individual Education Plans and supervise assigned instructional aides. Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside programs. Establish professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and the community while participating in staff development and faculty meetings. Comply with state, district, and school regulations, including safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
