Job Summary
Grade 1 Classroom Teacher responsible for instruction, supervision, classroom management, student assessment and evaluation, and collaboration with parents and staff within the Caddo Parish Public School System. The role requires meeting TAP Teaching Skills, Knowledge, and Responsibilities Standards, planning effective lessons aligned to standards, motivating students, presenting instructional content, organizing lesson structure, and providing timely feedback. The educator must adhere to School Board policies, participate in professional development, handle extraneous duties (extracurricular involvement, supervision, and school initiatives), and maintain a high standard of professional conduct. Minimum qualifications include U.S. citizenship or authorized alien status and Louisiana state certification/licensure; employment terms are 172 days. Places of work are in Shreveport, Louisiana, with on-site, in-person responsibilities. This position is full-time and aligned with district evaluation practices and accountability measures.
Required Qualifications
- United States citizen or authorized alien
- Louisiana State Certification or licensure as a teacher
- Possesses physical and mental stamina and ability to plan, organize and perform job functions
- Terms of Employment: 172 days (or as stated in contract)
- Attends meetings related to instruction and professional development
- Maintains professional conduct and adheres to CPSB policies
- Background in planning, grading, reporting of student progress
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, students, and public stakeholders
